| Hoffman Not Responding The San Diego Padres have said they would resume talks with closer Trevor Hoffman, but Hoffman has not responded, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. "I've offered to talk to Trevor to try to give him some idea of not only where we are, but where we were and why we withdrew the offer when we did,” Padres CEO Sandy Alderson said.  Could it be that Hoffman wants to join a new team?
