Padres versus Dodgers

The Pads won the first game of the series versus their divisional rival the L.A. Dodgers. Park went six against his old team giving up only one run and striking out five. Sele pitched four innings for the Dodgers giving up five runs, although only one of them were earned.

Today versus the Dodgers, the Pads are putting up Thompson who has a 2.67 era and a 2-2 record. Penny, who seems to be the Dodger ace, is on the mound today. In Penny's thirteen starts he is 7-1 with a 2.34 era. This guy has Contreras numbers. I am pretty sure that he is gonna mow down those Pads.

Re: Padres versus Dodgers

The Padres won the second game of the series with the Dodgers last night making their winning streak two in a row. Thompson pitched a heck of a game, going seven innings and only giving up two runs. Although Linebrink gave up a run in the eighth, he got the win AND a blown save...WEIRD. Hoffman came in to pitch in the ninth for his fifteenth save.

Today on the mound for the Pads is the promising young star, Young. Young has an impressive era of 3.25 and is 6-3 in 13 starts.

Re: Padres versus Dodgers

The Dodgers avoided a sweep yesterday by beating the Padres 3-7 last night. Young is proving to be a fine pitcher for the Pads. He only went five innings, but in his 100 pitches he only gave up two runs. The Pads bullpen of Sikorski, Adkins, Embree, and Cassidy gave up five more runs.

Today the Pads begin a three game series against the Anaheim Angels. This also starts a six game road trip. Good riddins.
