SD Padres injuries

Talk about injuries... the SD Padres have the worst luck in baseball!

According to the Associated Press, "One day after reigning NL Cy Young winner Jake Peavy was placed on the disabled list, pitcher Chris Young and catcher Josh Bard sustained injuries that knocked them out of Wednesday night’s 11-3 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals... Young and Bard were injured within a span of two batters in the third inning. Young had his nose broken and cut when Albert Pujols lined a shot off his face in the third inning that sent blood streaming down the front of his jersey. Bard sprained his left ankle on a play at the plate when Pujols slid into his leg."

Re: SD Padres injuries

Now it's Tadahito Iguchi who will miss some time -- at least four weeks, according to Yahoo! Sports, with a seperated shoulder.

Re: SD Padres injuries

Some injury updates courtesy of Yahoo! Sports:

"Third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff (lower back) and right fielder Brian Giles (left shoulder) will both avoid the disabled list. And right-handed pitcher Chris Young has been cleared to throw from the mound, although he still faces surgery June 30 to repair his septum and reset 'three or four' nasal bones." Kouzmanoff has an irritated disk in his back, and Giles has a sore left shoulder, it would seem.
