San Diego Padres ace Jake Peavy was named the unanimous National League Cy Young award winner today. Peavy had a record of 19-6 with a 2.54 ERA and 240 strikeouts (both led the league).
Peavy received all 32-first place votes and finished with 160 total points. Second place went to Diamondbacks ace Brandon Webb who finished with 94 points.
According to the AP, Peavy "joined Roger Clemens as the only starting pitchers to win a Cy Young Award without tossing a complete game."
That's pretty amazing.
