| Padres, Maddux agree to one-year deal  According to ESPN's Buster Olney, the Padres and Greg Maddux have come to terms on a one-year, $10 million contract. That's what his player option would have been worth had he finished with 200 innings rather than 198. As it was, the Padres held an $11 million option, while Maddux's player option was valued at $8.75 million. Settling at $10 million makes a lot of sense for both sides.
