Re: Padres losing streak Yes, there is. You haven't forget about the Kansas City Royals, have you? It isn't even worth going to their games because we all know what will happen. In fact, I am surprised that most gamblers don't bet against them that often. Or do they? (I don't bet so I wouldn't know).

Re: Padres losing streak Alright, you have some good points there. Berroa and DeJesus are some great prospects who should eventually become better players. Don't forget that Carlos Beltran came from Kansas City. He was a great prospect at the time (Rookie of the Year winner) and is now considered one of baseball's top hitters. The Padres success is do to mainly one player--Brian Giles. Giles doesn't have the same power anymore that he used to have. Last year, he hit only about a dozen homers (15 homers to be exact). His RBI count isn't that high either (70-80 ?). In other words, he is nothing to ride home about.

Re: Padres losing streak Three wins in a row for the Pads..sweeping the Giants...do you really call it a sweep if its only a two game series? At least the Pads helped the cause and gave up a homer to Barry. At least they are good for something. Signed, Your Favorite Padres Basher

Re: Padres losing streak This makes four. I am starting to think that this thread is actually helping the club win. Hey being a Giants fan in the West there is no way I can root for this Padres team. I therefore put a curse on the Padres, to lose the next eight in a row. Your Favorite Padres Basher, pete_b

Re: Padres losing streak Five in a row is impossible. I'm gonna make a thread like this for the Cubs. Does anyone know why the Pads are winning? The Dodgers were favored by SI to win the West right? What am I missing?

Re: Padres losing streak Gotta be luck, pete. They have no player with more than five home runs and only one with, Khalil Green, with more than 15 RBI. Their leading hitter among those who qualify, Brian Giles, is only batting .275. Their team ERA is a middle of the pack 4.35. Take solace in the fact that they're just 5-5 in their last 10 games.

Re: Padres losing streak Seven count them, SEVEN wins since I started this thread. And you know they beat the Cubs two in a row. I am really bummin...Doesn't anyone give a darn? I should call this thread the Padres winning streak.
