| Re: Trevor Hoffman Biggest Blown Save Hoffman has literally choked in every one of the biggest spots he has has ever been in, World Series vs Yankees, All-Star Game, and now this. Please don't anyone ever mention him in the same breath as the game's greatest closers. I don't care what the numbers say. Also, was anyone surprised that Jorge Julio gave up the go-ahead home run?

| Re: Trevor Hoffman Biggest Blown Save I do have to give him credit though, he took his medicine like a man with the press afterwards. He said he was responsible for the loss and it would be a burden he would have to live with. Howeverm having said that, San Diego was going nowhere in these playoffs with that hitting line-up. Peavy didn't exactly step up either, although he will still win the Cy Young. His 2 biggest starts of the year, this one and the one on three days rest vs Arizona a few weeks back when he begged to take the ball, were his 2 worst outings. |

| That's why the Save is the most overrated category now. If Hoffman gets in the HOF over Goose Gossage, something is definitely wrong. You know what? Sparky Lyle was a better closer than Trevor Hoffman. And he got HUGE saves, including a 7 inning one in the playoffs. |
