According to the Associated Press, "Umpire Mike Winters was suspended by Major League Baseball for the remainder of the regular season on Wednesday because of his confrontation with San Diego's Milton Bradley last weekend... The Padres claimed Winters baited Bradley, who has a history of losing his temper." Apparently baseball agreed with them. What do you think of this?

Bogus only because the season is basically over. Was he suspended with or without pay ? Will there be any type of review with a possibility of further punishment ?

I have to believe that this goes on a lot. They are only human and when they get crapped on enough they eventually give the cheap shots themselves. It would be nice to think that this only happens once in a lifetime but I just don't think it is true.

Bradley definitely was baited by this guy, but needless to say hurt his team with his antics. With a first base coach and a first baseman right there as witnesses, he should have filed a greivance after the game. What good was it going to do him to get in the guy's face. This ump though should suffer severe sanctions.

Sometimes our emotions get the better of us.

Sure, Bradley has the history of being a hothead, but without knowing exactly what was said, I'm hesitant to rip the guy too much.

MLB's reasoning is Bradly made no contact with the umpire.
