| Padres to cut David Wells David Wells is done in San Diego, as the team plans to jettison the 44 year old in order to activate Chris Young off the DL. "If he still wants to play, we'll designate him for assignment and see if other clubs have interest, or if he wants to hang them up, he can retire," GM Kevin Towers told The Associated Press. "We're waiting for him to get back to us." Anyone surprised by this move? Will Wells retire or wind up signing elsewhere? | Re: Padres to cut David Wells After a bevvy of rumors, it pretty much looks like Wells is done for the season. Doesn't seem like anyone's too interested in picking him up. |
