Peavy nets 1000th strikeout
Jake Peavy struck out 10 batters in last night's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, surpassing the 1,000 k mark for his career. Peavy, who leads the NL with 154 strikeouts, is just the second Padres pitcher to achieve the feat. The other is Andy Benes (1,036), whose team record for career punch-outs probably won't last the season. So is Jake Peavy close to being the best pitcher in San Diego history yet?
