According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, "Saying it's 'doubtful' that he'll trade for a big bat, Padres General Manager Kevin Towers reiterated yesterday that he is more likely to trade for a starting pitcher and a bench player over the next several weeks, if he makes a trade." I've got to really question that strategy - this team could use more hitting, don't you think?

They really need somebody to drive in runs especially since Gonzalez is not hitting at the moment. Their lineup would not scare anybody.

No doubt. They're one of the worst hitting teams in the NL. I don't understand why they're not looking to add a bat.
