LaDainian Tomlinson is Sad

The guy is still the best RB in the game (IMO) but after these losses, he looks so depressed. You feel sorry for the guy. Obviously the guy wants to win and whatnot but he seriously looks like he's about to cry in these post-game news conferences.

Tomlinson needs to change his to a

Getting rid of Marty is not looking like it was the best idea.

Re: LaDainian Tomlinson is Sad

Obviously, idiots in management think that if a coach can't get you in the Super Bowl with a 14-2 record you should fire him.

Schottenheimer has a great, GREAT regular season record of 200-126-1 and even if his playoff record is next to crap, regular season records help put asses in seats!!!!!!

Bring Mart back you stupid ****s.

Yeah, how about that. Well, Smith and Spanos, you reap what you sow. I do feel bad for guys like Tomlinson, who got so close to the big game under Schottenheimer and are now 1-2 and in last place in the AFC West. But at the same time, part of me's really enjoying seeing this team struggle, hoping the much maligned Marty will finally get the respect he deserves for being a much better coach than most people give him credit for.

Why would you get rid of them after last year. I know they melted down in the playoffs. But they had a bright future. Another dumb move by dumb management.

exactly. If you're going to fire a coach who went 14-2, at least hire a guy better than Norv Turner.

Cool Re: LaDainian Tomlinson is Sad

Not only was he sad, but he was mad, too. He was working over Rivers pretty good during the game.

Re: LaDainian Tomlinson is Sad

Marty went after the Chargers self-destucted in their loss to the Patriots in the playoffs while he stood idly by watching, so let's not canonize him. Turner is what he is. Rivers has to prove to the league that he can beat you, otherwise teams will just try to stop Tomlinson until Rivers does. This is a player's league as they say, not a coach's league, no matter what some of them will have you believe. Guys like Loviue Smith, who were being hailed as the next coming just last January, are now looking quite ordinary.

Re: LaDainian Tomlinson is Sad

The only reason why Schott is gone is because of his relationship (or lack thereof) with the GM. They literally hated each other. The GM had more power so Marty's gone.

NFL is about making money, it shouldn't matter how much people hate each other.

The NFL is.

The head coach/GM of the Chargers has nothing to do with making money.

True, it's about winning games. Either way you look at it, personal feelings should not cloud business judgments.
