Cool Drew Brees Trade to Saints

Once again, as you've I've claimed in previous posts, San Diego just saw their Super Bowl hopes go to New Orleans. I don't know what the Chargers are thinking. I really thought they could have competed for the Super Bowl this year. Not anymore.

The Chargers management dropped the ball big time. I guess Rivers is the guy in San Diego now, by default. Sure hope for his sake that he's ready. How do you think Marty and the team is going to react to this? They all really seemed to want Brees back.

Boy the smiles in New Orleans right now. Drew Brees throwing under a dome for eight games a season - if they get that dome fixed as planned, anyway.

Now, if Deuce McAllister hadn't suffered that torn ACL that ended his season early, I'd say that Brees already had a great running back in him. However, he pulled it and it will be interesting to see how he responds to it. Before the injury, though, McAllister was very underrated.

Finally, though, the talented receiving crew of Joe Horn, Daunte Stallworth and Az-Zahir Hakim will have someone to throw them the ball. Not that Aaron Brooks was bad, but, he just wasn't getting the job done.

I think this addition makes the Saints offense a top ten offense immediately. Still waiting for news on that defense.

They lost LeCharles Bentley, though. Is their offensive line any good still?

If Brees can be ready, a great move for the Saints. Now, what does this mean for the draft? Likely they'll look to trade out of the 2nd pick...but they could go after Mario Williams or D'Brickashaw Ferguson.

Back to the Chargers, though. Is Phillip Rivers ready to run this team? Can they win with him?

Re: Drew Brees Trade to Saints

For those of you not in San Diego...Here is the scoop...This is nothing new. The Chargers never keep any talent. They don't care to win. They have a big guarantee with the city so they don't need to fill the stadium so why keep the big guns? This is why I am still a Bear fan.
