Re: Michael Turner

Turner is a mostly unproven commodity. Despite his gaudy per yard average, I would bet many of his yards have been in mop up duty or spelling LT after he has pretty much dismantled the opposing defense. He has carried the ball the equivalent of what a full time back would do in about 1/2 a season of play. He was a fifth round pick from Northern Illinois. I wouldn't give up too much for him....maybe a 3rd rounder.

Re: Michael Turner

If you give up any picks, you have to think if there is anybody better that you could get with that pick. If there isn't anybody available at that pick, why not give it up for somebody that you have seen play at the pro level already. I would say anybody in the bottom half of the draft could be a taker.

I could even see giving up a 2nd rounder for him. He's got great talent; the only question is whether or not he can be an every down back.

Re: Michael Turner

It's being reported the Chargers have received a trade offer of a first round pick this year for Turner...from a mystery team. Nobody seems to know who just yet.

This could be intriguing. This is basically confirmation that the dropoff after Peterson is HUGE.

Interesting... depending who it is (Green Bay, Tennessee, maybe) it could work out really well. Anyone who has a mid-round pick in the first round and a need at the running back position would be best served pulling off a deal like this.

Re: Michael Turner

Turner is officially off the market now.

According to Rotowire.com, "The Chargers called Turner's agent on Monday morning and also informed the teams they knew were still interested in the running back that under no circumstances would Turner be traded. 'That's it,' general manager A.J. Smith said. 'It's over. I didn't want to be fooling around with this until October. Even if you have a guy blow out a knee in training camp, don't call.' So the Chargers will again enter the season with a very talented back up to LaDainian Tomlinson."
