Phillip Rivers injured

Chargers QB Phillip Rivers suffered a foot injury in yesterday's game against Arizona. He actually returned and threw two TD passes with the injury, but was noticibly limping. Rivers says he should be fine in two weeks, as San Diego starts their playoff run after the bye. Think he's right?

Re: Phillip Rivers injured

Yeah I think Rivers will be fine , If he was really in alot of pain ? They wouldn't of allow him to go back out even if it meant homefield advantage , I have to say this team has surprise me after losing Drew , I thought Drew was their main man , Now wouldn't it be cool if it was the Chargers and Saints in the final ?

I agree with you snooker. I thought that getting rid of Brees was a dumb thing to do.

Re: Phillip Rivers injured

Rivers is something I'd be worried about if I were a Chargers fan (along with Schotty). Perhaps not because of this foot issue but simply being a rookie (as far as playing the game goes). Most, if not all, rookie QBs experience fatigue or just being tired after such a long season. Just like Roethlisberger last year, he was tired as hell in the playoffs and hardly was effective.

Of course Rivers will have a week to rest up and he can always hand off to LTom.

I thought that they couldn't afford to keep Brees with their cap situation. I could be wrong on that but with a week off I think Rivers will be fine and I do believe the theory in this thread that rookie QBs tend to tire by the last quarter of the season. Still I think Rivers is gonna be one of the great ones.
