Tomlinson best back in NFL?!?

Watching Tomlinson rip the Raiders for 100 yards in the 1st half. Seeing him throw, catch, and run for TDs last year...Seeing him pound out 2,000 total yard years...he's gotta be the best. Anyone out there would seriously take Alexander or Johnson over this guy?

Re: Tomlinson best back in NFL?!?

Nope, he's the best. That what kills me about so many of the so-called fantasy experts picking Larry Johnson or Shaun Alexander over LT. Man, give me LT any day of the week!

Only guy I would have taken over Manning... I had a chance in one league to take Alexander and LJ in another and I went with Manning...but now LT...I would have passed on Manning for him.

Re: Tomlinson best back in NFL?!?

Wow, he definitely was the best back in the NFL for today at least. Tomlinson had 71 yards rushing, 7 catches for 64 yards, and four rushing touchdowns in San Diego's 48-19 win over San Francisco.

Can you make a case for him to be among the top 5 all-time backs yet?

No, not yet. But if he keeps playing like this, it won't be all that much longer.

Re: Tomlinson best back in NFL?!?

Anybody can do that against the Raiders

But people were taking LaJohnson and Alexander over LT in fantasy leagues because of the threat that SD would play the back-up more. Where's the Tiki Barber loving going on? lol

You do you have ahead of him?...Can't be a big list…
Brown, Sanders, Smith, Payton, Simpson…then maybe Gale Sayers and Eric Dickerson?...

Re: Tomlinson best back in NFL?!?

Yeah, that list looks about right to me. Can't think of anyone else off the top of my head that I'd rate above LT.

I agree 100%. LT can do it all, and with a rookie QB too who was merely "managing games." Tomlinson the best! Alexander #2, Barber #3 (SURPRISE!!! ), LJ #4, Portis #5. Take note fantasy football players!

Re: Tomlinson best back in NFL?!?

Yeah just look at the production. At this site you can find LT and see what his full projections are and weekly they run a start or sit for fantasy that outlines the actual numbers the players will amass for the weekend.

LT gets my vote for best RB in the NFL, and I'm a Seahawks fan. I am a huge fan of both LT and Sean Alexander and rate them as the top 2.

No offense to you as a Seahawk fan, but I don't think they are even close. Alexander is a great great back, but he is not in the same neighborhood as LT. They are not even breathing the same air. LT has gotten better every year and he started off great. If he keeps up as he is, who will be better than him?

Re: Tomlinson best back in NFL?!?

I am surprised that nobody has stood up for Larry Johnson. I think he is more powerful than Tomlinson and maybe as fast; he has been good for 150 yards a game lately and that is with defenses keying all over him due to the Chiefs' limited options. I would take him over Tomlinson, who has a tendency every year, except this one, to wear down.

Now, now Legend...LJ has done it for only about a 1-1/4...Tomlinson has been rolling at +350 touches a season since he came into the league...right now its Tomlinson ahead...maybe in 5 years it may be a difference story, but LJ's got to go the distance...for a while he was a back that couldn't beat out Priest Holmes...
