Western Conference Finals: Spurs vs. Lakers

The Spurs and Lakers met in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals yesterday, and San Antonio came up short against L.A, 89-85.
The Spurs had a 20-point lead at one time, but went just 3-for-21 in the fourth quarter to blow the lead.

Things have gone from bad to worse for San Antonio.
After blowing a 20 point lead in Game 1, they were blown out by 30 points in Game 2.

Re: Western Conference Finals: Spurs vs. Lakers

The Lakers are younger and way more athletic for the old beat down Spurs. In the second half of both games the look tired and 3 steps slower than the Lakers. They will split in San Antonio and the Lakers will win in 5. Time to rebuild Spurs you guys are old and done. Don't forget the Lakers will get Bynum back next year, the rest of the NBA are in trouble for years to come.

Old and done, eh? Well, they were good enough to spank the Lakers 103-84 yesterday in Game 3.
Manu had 30 points and Duncan added 22 points and 21 rebounds in the win.

I didn't think Manu had anything left. I guess we should never count out the champs.

Re: Western Conference Finals: Spurs vs. Lakers

Everyone said Ginobili had a bad wheel and a finger injury, but then he scores 30 and looks like an All-Star. This is what makes it hard to watch the NBA today. Spurs lose by 30 and then win by 21-no consistency. Does getting a few calls at home make that big a difference?

Re: Western Conference Finals: Spurs vs. Lakers

The Spurs are on the brink of elimination after yesterday's 93-91 loss. San Antonio had a shot at the end, but a Brent Barry three-point attempt came up short.
Barry scored 23 and *may* have been fouled on that final play, but there was no call. So much for the refs being in San Antonio's pocket. Meanwhile Duncan had 29 points, 17 rebounds in the losing effort, and Parker added 23.

Re: Western Conference Finals: Spurs vs. Lakers

The Spurs are the last team the league wants to see in the Finals. They would kill the ratings once again because everyone detests them outside of Texas. But even Barry understood he wasn't going to get a call in that spot.
