NBA Playoffs: San Antonio vs. New Orleans

The San Antonio Spurs dropped Game 1 of their second-round playoff series yesterday to the New Orleans Hornets, 101-82, on Saturday.

According to the Associated Press, "One reason [the Hornets are] off to such a good start against San Antonio is the way they played defense on Spurs center Tim Duncan... Duncan had what he considered one of the worst games of his stellar career, going 1-of-9 from the field for a career playoff-low five points and only three rebounds." So what can the Spurs do to free up Duncan more in Monday's Game 2?

They will do what they always do. Get the ball to Ginobilli. He will drive the ball and have people focus on him. That will free up Duncan.

Still, this was a pretty bad Game 1 loss for them. I wasn't expecting them to go down by almost 20. Are they in trouble here?

Apparently, the answer is yes. The Spurs are down 0-2 after a 102-84 loss to the Hornets yesterday.
Chris Paul has 30 points and Peja Stojakovic hit five three-pointers and scored 25. How does San Antonio rebound from this?

The Spurs finally took one yesterday, winning Game 3 110-99.

According to the Associated Press, "The San Antonio Spurs’ Big Three congregated around the scorer’s table during a timeout in the fourth quarter, not long before they put the game away for good... Parker and Ginobili scored 31 points each and Duncan added 16 points and 13 rebounds as the Spurs beat the Hornets." So are they back in this series now?

San Antonio beat New Orleans, 100-80 yesterday, and now we have a 2-2 series. Tim Duncan has 22 points, 15 rebounds and Tony Parker added 21 points for the Spurs. The series will return to Hornets country on Tuesday for Game 5, with Game 6 on Thursday.
