Las Vegas, July 10 -- Francisco Garcia continued to shine in the NBA Summer League, pushing the Sacramento Kings past the Washington Wizards, 75-64, to improve their record to 2-0 in summer league play.
“I felt good out there today,” Garcia added about his performance. “I hit my first shot, so I just wanted to stay aggressive.”
After leading the Kings with 20 points in their opener, Garcia accounted for a game-high 23 points (6-10 FG, 5-6 FT) in today’s win. Forward Justin Williams recorded his second straight double-double with 11 points (5-8 FG) and 10 rebounds, while rookie Spencer Hawes struggled from the floor (4-16 FG) and finished with eight points and six rebounds.
“I just wanted to come down here to Vegas and see where I stand,” Garcia said about playing in summer league. “Last season I was injured and didn’t get to play as much as I would have liked.”
