| Can Rutgers Win the Big East? Obviously the first answer out of our keyboards will be NO! But they have a snowballs chance to contend with Louisville and West Virginia. Or perhaps I'm just rooting for the underdog here. As the Sportz Assassin blog pointed out, their schedule isn't extremely tough. They open the season up next Saturday in North Carolina to play the tarheels. Other potential winning match-ups could be: Sept. 16th, home, vs. Ohio Sept. 23rd, home vs. Howard Sept. 29th, @ South Florida (Big East) Oct. 14th, @ Navy Oct. 29th, home, vs. Connecticuit Nov. 25th, home, vs. Syracuse The tough games I'd say on the schedule include Illinois, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Cincinnati and the season conclusion AT West Virginia. |

| Re: Can Rutgers Win the Big East? The Scarlet Knights get WVU, Pitt and South Florida on the road. The UNC game is a road game. They lost 56-5 to Louisville last year. Illinois beat them in OT last season. There's a real chance they could lose all six of those games. I like their RB Ray Rice, but they'll have a new QB and they lost 3 of 4 starters on the defensive line. So I, for one, am not buying into the notion that Rutgers can compete for the Big East title.
