Ka'lial Glaud – a linebacker from Atco (N.J.) Winslow Township – was set to announce where he would play college football on Wednesday morning, he still was divided between West Virginia and Rutgers. His principal jokingly gave him a quarter to help him along. But it was no joke to Glaud, who decided it would be West Virginia if it was heads and Rutgers if it was tails.
"Tails came up, so that's when I decided Rutgers," Glaud told the Courier-Post of Camden, N.J. "I didn't know where I was going to go."
Although Glaud's final decision came down to the flip of a coin, Winslow Township coach Michael McBride said the choice was not arbitrary. "He took all five of his official visits, he compared categories of importance at each school and he talked to his support group," McBride said. "If you want to criticize a kid, how about the ones who commit to three different schools and don't take the process seriously? That's not Ka'lial."
