Rutgers' offensive coordinator interviews with Alabama

Rutgers offensive coordinator John McNulty spent the day at the University of Alabama interviewing for the same position at the SEC school with head coach Nick Saban, according to a person who spoke with the Scarlet Knights assistant.

McNulty, 39, is reportedly one of two finalists for the job, with Fresno State offensive coordinator Jim McElwain the other. McElwain was also in to interview with Saban today, according to reports.

Rutgers set school records for total offense (5,841 yards), points scored (421) and first downs in McNulty's first full season as offensive coordinator last fall. He shared the duties with Craig Ver Steeg in 2006.
