Cool Schiano staying put

Greg Schiano has told Miami University that he will stay at Rutgers. Kudos. It's nice to see that once in a while a coach show loyalty instead of going for the big bucks. Anybody else agree or do you think he's nuts?

I admire him. Who's to say he can't build a dynasty at Rutgers.

Great news. Schiano is a great coach and he can lead Rutgers to some special things in the near future.

Re: Schiano staying put

Here is what I think Schiano knows. As long as the Big East gets a BCS bid, he has a chance to win national championships at Rutgers. The Big East, as much as we want to rant and rave about Rutgers, West Virginia, and Louisville, is still not a power conference. Should they get a BCS bid, yes, but I think he realizes he is under less pressure at Rutgers, he has as much of a chance to win a national title as he would at say Miami or Alabama, and he apprarently has way better facilities. Good for him, and look out for Rutgers....

Yes! Glad to hear it. Hopefully he can continue building Rutgers and, yes, turn them into a national title contender.

Re: Schiano staying put

I heard him on the radio yesterday. He said he stayed because he promised great things at Rutgers. He said they had a good season, but it wasn't great. He expects to contend next year because he is getting a lot of players back.
