Re: Rutgers WINS!!! Now Where Should They Be Ranked?

hehe, you may be a ACC fan but no chance Wake Forest cracks the Top 10 just yet. There are still some 1-loss teams who will be ranked ahead. If WF can get into the top 15, that'd be what I'm shooting for right now.

Yeah, I know. Some times all you have is hope.
But it doesn't negate the fact that there isn't a single team in the Big East that could beat WF, including WVU, who I believe will put an end to all this Rutgers chatter anyway.

Ha ha ha! No Big East team that could beat Wake... never mind that Wake only beat Syracuse by 10 points, and that WVU whipped 'em by 24 while Louisville did in the Orange by 2 touchdowns. Or that the Deacons only beat UConn by 11 when the Mountaineers won their game with Connecticut 37-11. You know, against common opponents, those Big East teams are looking pretty good...

I see were you're coming from, but please remember:
It only takes 1 point to win a game (look at yesterdays scores). You prove my point, WF won all their Big East match-ups.

Didn't mean to take anything away from the Big East, good conference, I just think WF is playing better than ever, and would be a tough team to beat right now. (Except when they lose to the Hokies next weekend )

Yeah, I don't mean any disrespect to Wake either. It's a great story, and boy was I pulling for them to beat Clemson. They sure made a run at it. They're a very impressive team, to be sure, and in truth, I'd love to see them and maybe WVU lock horns in a Bowl Game. That'd be a good one!

Re: Rutgers WINS!!! Now Where Should They Be Ranked?

That would be a pretty good game. Not the same rivalry as VaTech and WVU. The ACC title game should be WF and that other Tech. Since my beloved Hokies aren't in the mix, I find myself rooting for the Deacons.

Thanks to the NFL draft, the ACC is playing "young" this year. Next year the ACC will be a force to be reckoned with.

No way that the second best team in a conference should be playing for the National title. The loser of Ohio State- Michigan should drop to about fourth or fifth.

Exactly why, pray tell, can't the best two teams in the country just happen to be in the same conference? If Ohio State and Michigan didn't play each other and both went unbeaten, they'd both be stone-cold locks for the BCS title game. Sorry, but there's no way you can say that the second best team in a conference can't also be the second best team in the country.

Welcome JYRN.

I'd kinda like to see Rutgers win this as well, that way when WVU beats them it will look that much better.

Slaton and White are awesome.

The Rutgers D isn't too shabby either. And they too have a great RB.

The thing that will make a HUGGGGE difference is that game will be in West Virginia. One of the difficulties Brian Brohm had in the 2nd half was the crowd noise.

Rice is getting 5.4 yds a carry with 1334 yds. WVU QB Pat White is gaining 8.3 yds a carry with 1057 yds, Slaton gets 7.7 yds a carry with 1578 yds.

White is an awesome running back with good QB skills. Rice is good, but WVU dominates the rush. And that is exactly how they will beat Rutgers.

That is a hell of a stat, my friend, thanks for that. Rice is the star player of an unbeaten team, and I think that's what gives him all this Heisman consideration. I knew White was over 1,000 yards and had an unreal yards per carry average -- what I didn't realize was that Slaton was going for nearly 8 yards per carry himself. That's mighty impressive. I wonder which of the 1,000 back in the NCAA leads the nation in per carry average?

Re: Rutgers WINS!!! Now Where Should They Be Ranked?

the one thing that will hurt rutgers is the control of clock, they try to limit other teams posessions. But with wvu they are a homerun team on the ground, they were running the ball against pitt with 2mins left in the half with a drive starting on their 20. They are not afraid to look for a big play on the ground
