Rutgers Debuts @ North Carolina

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights started off their 2006 season in North Carolina about an hour ago. Running back Raymell Rice scored for the first touchdown of the season for the Knights on a goal line run.

Many fans expect Rutgers do improve on last year's run.

Rutgers pulls out the victory, 21-16 in North Carolina. A big play early in the fourth quarter had the Scarlet Knights stop the Tarheels at the goal line on a fourth down play (after a TD run had been overturned).

Re: Rutgers Debuts @ North Carolina

What a game for Rutgers RB Raymell Rice! 31 carries for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns - just a terrific performance against the Tar Heel defense. According to the AP, Rice had 128 yards by halftime and "became the first Rutgers rusher with three consecutive 100-yard games since Jacki Crooks did it in 1998." What a performance from this unheralded tailback!

As much as I would like to agree with you ,there's to much of my father in me. Can't ever roots for Pitt or the Steelers. When I lived in PA, used to drive right by the the Steelers practicing. My favorite Pitt game was when my ex got the tickets and brought them in the Pitt section. Didn't bother my Dad and me any, we rooted for our Mountaineer's.
