The Toughest Sport on Dirt Goes Red Dirt

Don't Miss the ABBI Wild Card Classic
http://www.pbrnow.com/images/dynimg.cfm?ID=3704&T=0COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (August 22, 2006) - The American Bucking Bull, Inc. (ABBI) will deliver the best of the bulls and the bands when the ABBI Wild Card Classic rocks Enid, Oklahoma’s Chisholm Trail Expo Center on Saturday, October 7 at 1 p.m. Take 150 bucking bulls, Professional Bulls Riders’ (PBR) Enterprise Rent-A-Car Tour action, and combine them with the red dirt rhythms of the Joe Merrick Band, No Justice, and the Great Divide, and you’ve got a recipe for fun. The one of a kind bulls and bands festival begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday when the first section of ABBI bulls buck into action. Bucking bulls and bands will then alternate through the course of the afternoon until the action is complete.
The $20,000 added ABBI Wild Card Classic is open to any ABBI registered, age certified 3- or 4-year old bull that is not currently among the top 50 money earners of the ABBI Classic Series standings. Additionally, any bull in the top 70 of the ABBI Classic Series standings is required to enter the ABBI World Bucking Bull Classic (WBBC) first, and should he not make the cut as of September 18, 2006, he will then be eligible for the Wild Card Classic. Money won at the Wild Card Classic will not count toward the WBBC finals.
The entry fees are $1,000 for the first 100 head entered and $1,250 after that. The Wild Card champion bull will be awarded $50,000 provided there are no less than 150 bulls entered, and 10 places will be paid with the top 20 finishers guaranteed to receive their entry fees back. All entrants receive an ABBI Wild Card jacket.
Entrires for the Wild Card Classic should be sent to the ABBI Headquarters located at 713 NE Hwy. 66 in Sayre, Okla. 73662. Entry forms are available at www.abbinow.com/forms/wildcard.doc, or via the ABBI Headquarters.
The top five ABBI Wild Card finishers will each receive a paid in full entry to the prestigious ABBI WBBC taking place at the South Coast Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. on Monday, October 30 and Tuesday, October 31 at 7 p.m. each evening. The WBBC features an unprecedented $450,000 purse with $200,000 in prize money guaranteed to the World Champion Bull.
Hailing from Stillwater, Okla., The Great Divide is well known for its high-energy stage show and its honest, original grass roots music. The band’s newest album, Under Your Own Sun, was released on May 10, 2005. Similarly, No Justice also hails from Stillwater, incidentally the same city known for spawning the careers of Garth Brooks and Cross Canadian Ragweed. No Justice has built a large following, supported by the more than 200 live shows they play each year. The Joe Merrick Band has become a fixture at many PBR events during the past few years, most notably the Built Ford Tough World Finals, where they have provided entertainment during PBR Fan Fests, pre- and after-event festivities, and the ever-popular PBR Fan Zone, just to name a few.
About ABBI
American Bucking Bull Inc. was formed in the fall of 2003 in an effort to preserve and track the DNA records of the best bucking bred animals in the world. In addition to this goal, the ABBI also endeavored to enhance the business of raising and bucking these magnificent animals by providing a competitive format in which they could earn prize money and establish their value as buckers and sires. With two years of registration behind them, the participation in ABBI programs has been phenomenal. Over 35,000 head of cattle are DNA verified and entered into the ABBI registry. This year the ABBI Classic program for 3- and 4-year-old bulls consisted of 20 events held from January through September, culminating with the World Bucking Bull Classic Finals to be held in Las Vegas during the PBR World Finals. The total estimated purse for the ABBI finals will be in excess of $450,000. As the competitive opportunities increase, the trend toward higher value of these animals should continue. The ABBI has helped to provide one of the most fun and interesting avenues for involvement in the toughest sport on dirt, professional bull riding.
For additional information on the American Bucking Bull, Inc. contact ABBI headquarters located in Sayre, Okla. at 580-928-5001.
