Boys will be Cowboys

Colton Berwick wants to be a bull rider. He looks the part already. He has a black cowboy hat, blue jeans, dusty cowboy boots, a large belt buckle, and of course the swagger.
Trouble is Colton is 15 and mom and dad say no.
The dangers are obvious. Colton attended YMBL Championship Rodeo on Friday and one hour into the show a cowboy was taken out on a stretcher after a bronco bucked him off and he hit his head on a gate.
YMBL President Mike Amy says they can turn pro at 18.

The Beaumont Enterprise - Boys will be cowboys as long as there's a rodeo

I cant. He's 15 and still growing. Mom and Dad are still in charge. Besides, they still pay the hospital bills.

Well if your in this sport you can count on getting hurt.It ain't for the weak or the faint of heart. If your heart ain't in it,you'll never get out of the gate.I ain't never met anybody that has not been hurt.I'm sorry but pain is part of this sport. But at 15 mom and dad still make the rules.Thats something everybodys gonna have to come to terms with.

I agree with you.

Rodeo is all about having heart.
