Mike White (De Kalb, Texas) has not competed on the tour since the Cabela’s Classic in Kansas City in March. He did however take top honors home from the Anchorage, Alaska Enterprise Rent-A-Car Tour event held Sept. 8-10. Anchorage was his first PBR competition since his injury. White cracked his first cervical vertebra (C1) at the base of the skull and broke his third/fourth thoracic vertebra at the Cabela’s Classic and has been on the mend most of this season. Four regular season BFTS events, including Greensboro, remain before the roster for the Built Ford Tough World Finals presented by Wrangler is determined. The road to Las Vegas is as thrilling as ever with the lead in the world championship race being challenged week in and week out. Guilherme Marchi (Leme, Sao Paulo, Brazil) has held the number one position since Chicago, Ill. in April. Mike Lee (Decatur, Texas) overtook the number two spot when he took reserve championship honors of the Chihuahua Challenge, held Aug. 26-27. Lee is hot on Marchi’s heels, trailing the world standings leader by just 1,155 points. Just 1,890.5 points separate the fifth position in the BFTS point standings from the first, making each point earned pivotal in determining who will own the ultimate crown in professional bull riding – the PBR Built Ford Tough World Championship. 2005 PBR World Champion, Justin McBride (Elk City, Okla.), who is currently ranked 9th in the BFTS point standings and second on the all time leading PBR money earners list, is poised to cross the $3 million mark. McBride has PBR career earnings totaling $ 2,975,247 and lacks $24,753 to cross the milestone. 2004 PBR World Champion and World Finals event winner Mike Lee (Decatur, Texas) is $17,070 away from the $2 million mark with $1,982,930. Big bucks are on the line in the Mossy Oak Shoot Out on Friday night. The available Mossy Oak Shoot Out bonus has grown to $90,000. The bonus has not been claimed since March 3, 2006 when Chris Shivers covered Paradise Farms Rodeo Genetics' Bo Kat for $25,000 in Reno, Nev.
