| Joe Tiller retires Purdue head football coach Joe Tiller has retired. According to the Associated Press, "Under Tiller, the Boilermakers made 10 bowl appearances in 11 years, including the high point in 2000 when Drew Brees led the team to the Rose Bowl for the first time since 1967 and was third in the Heisman Trophy voting." He's 65 and says he wants to get away from football and start fishing. Can't blame him there! He will be replaced by assistant and former Eastern Kentucky head coach Danny Hope.
