The new No. 1 in Portland will be No. 52. Greg Oden made that announcement even before he was drafted Thursday night by the Trail Blazers with the top pick. The word came in his blog at Yardbarker: Greg Oden's Blog:, where he has been sharing his personal thoughts since last month.
"People of YardBarker Nation, I'm going to tell you all first. The number I'm going to wear is 52. It's a mix of my high school and college number. So wherever I go, I hope to get 52," Oden wrote.
Oden wore No. 20 last season at Ohio State and was No. 50 at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis before the switch to 52, the number former Blazers star Buck Williams wore in Portland.
"I know it's an ugly number, but to me it's just a number, and if I do good I think one person may wear it," Oden wrote. "I know the number 20 wasn't that attractive, but as the year went on it grew on me. This one will too."

52 is not cool...it ain't gonna look good on a jersey...unless of course my man Oden makes it cool.
