Cool Re: Big Ben Crashes Motorcycle

I can live without motorcycles on the road altogether. First of all, they're very hard to see. Second, I can't stand when I'm sitting in traffic and they coming zooming through in between lanes. I know there are a lot of motorcyclers who drive safely but I see too many doing dangerous things.

Re: Big Ben Crashes Motorcycle

Did you guys read this in your morning papers today?
Roethlisberger says he won't do helmet-safety ads - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

Shame on you, Ben. You nearly died because you weren't wearing a helmet, and now you have a chance to reach out to kids and other bikers and maybe save a few lives by telling your story on some PSAs. And you're not going to do it, because you think it should be their decision? Disgraceful.

I read that too. He says he's put the bike away but will ride it after season ends and will probably not wear a helmet.
7 hours of facial reconstruction. And he thinks it's still a personal decision. That's some thick skull (it probably was what saved him).

This Rothesberger is a perfect example of why im losing faith in sports if I havent lost it altogether. I mean he has a chance to stop kids from emulating him and maybe not getting off so lucky but he decides as peabrained jocks do to do the selfish, wrong thing. I hope Rothesberger turns out to be Heath Shuler right now. I mean no one gives him credit for winning that Superbowl anyway so he could still be a footnote in the history books...I hope, sick as it sounds. We dont need people like Ben Roethisberger in this world. And the poster who said they can do without motorcycles altogether I agree because they are constantly on the highways and streets with vehicles 10 times there size and you have to look out for them like theyre some kind of fly buzzing around.

Agreed Lefty. Disgusting. At the same time, do people really need Ben to do a commercial to get them to stop riding without helmets? I would think with all the publicity, if they're still riding without helmets, the commercial wouldn't do anything.

Re: Big Ben Crashes Motorcycle

It certainly couldn't hurt. Him brushing off the accident, saying that helmets are a "personal decision" and, if what blueandwhite says is true, even going so far as talking about riding again without a helmet after the season? To an idiot kid, that's a license to do it "because Ben does and he's cool!" Roethlesberger needs to grow up. He's missing a golden opportunity to do some good in the community and it seems like he could care less about it.

Bradshaw, his coaches and all of us can sing in his ears about this all we want; doesn't seem like it's making a lick of difference to Ben.
