| Charlie's Best of Batch Foundation gives to community In 6th grade Charlie Batch messed around and failed a class. His single Mom, working 2 jobs, had to come up with a $125 fee for a tutor only to be told Charlie knew the subject matter. He just didnt do the work. He suffered because he couldnt play football or basketball all summer. So he knows about losing football. Her Charlie doesnt goof off anymore. Not only does he have his day job with the Steelers, but is heavily involved in various charitable and community projects. His Best of Batch Foundation received more than 2300 requests for speaking engagements or donations in the last year. He works with Eyeglass World to provide free vision screening. His "Chuck" program gives kids a place to play in a summer basketball program. He hosts the non-profit Pittsburgh Mercy foundation celebrity golf outing. He is in great demand as a speaker at commencements. About the rash of domestic violence issues on the team, he says you are guilty by association but doesnt let it distract him. Charlie's Best of Batch Foundation gives a boost to the community I thought maybe it would be nice to read something good about a Pittsburgh Steeler.
