| Steelers will stick with grass at Heinz Field The Steelers have decided to keep playing on natural grass at Heinz Field, SportsBusiness Daily reports. Team Chairman Dan Rooney said he is inclined to keep grass because their players were concerned about injuries on artificial turf. SportingNews.com - Your expert source for NFL Football stats, scores, standings, blogs and fantasy news from NFL Football columnists Remember the muddy field it turned into after the heavy rain in November in the game against the Dolphins? It most certainly makes a lousy playing surface.

| Re: Steelers will stick with grass at Heinz Field Qwest Field is getting a new artificial playing surface this year, just in time for the Dalai Lama's scheduled April rally at the 67,000-seat home venue for the Seattle Seahawks. The Washington State Public Stadium Authority unanimously approved the decision on Friday to replace the synthetic turf. First & Goal Inc., Seahawks owner Paul Allen's company that operates the stadium, will use FieldTurf, the same synthetic product used when the stadium opened in 2002.

| Re: Steelers will stick with grass at Heinz Field I haven't attended an NFL game at Heinz Field but I've seen the Panthers play there a few times the bast two seasons, I didn't notice anything that bad. Kudos to their grounds team to keep the surface as nice as they do. Pittsburgh weather is tough on the sod. In complete honesty it was the combination of the number of games played on that turf in those few days, and it really did rain like a mother over here the day of that Dolphins game. |
