Steelers Haul In Haynes

With running back Willie Parker officially on IR due to a broken fibula, the Steelers have brought back Verron Haynes.
Parker already has had surgery on the leg. He is expected to fully recover in time for the 2008 season. It's unknown whether and to what extent he'll be hampered (there's the obligatory Najeh Davenport reference) during offseason workouts.
Haynes spent five seasons with the Steelers, from 2002 through 2006. He was cut prior to the season.
The real question is whether Haynes will get in game shape quickly enough to contribute.

I think without Parker, they will be bounced from the Playoffs quick...it won't matter.

Well, Haynes is a good back. I'm surprised he hadn't signed anywhere.

He knows the system, and he won't replace Parker, but he is a better than average fill-in.
