Roethlisberger hurts foot?

Ben Roethlisberger was limping toward the end of practice Wednesday after a teammate stepped on his left foot. Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin didn't seem worried about his quarterback. "I'm sure he's fine," Tomlin said. The Steelers didn't offer any more information, and they didn't appear concerned that Roethlisberger would be limited during practice Thursday or might not play in Saturday's exhibition game against Green Bay. Roethlisberger usually ends practice by signing autographs and chatting with fans, but he left the field immediately in a cart - apparently to have the foot checked. -- Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

Re: Roethlisberger hurts foot?

He saw VERY limited action against the Packers yesterday.

Tomlin brought in Batch midway through the first quarter, so I'm guessing he probably was dinged up a bit.

Yes, yes you can. And he is one. Remember how poorly he played in that Super Bowl.

He's a guy who had a few good games, but he's never been the budding star the media tells us he is.

Yeah, I agree. I think he's a better decision maker, though probably not as physically talented.

Re: Roethlisberger hurts foot?

I think Big Ben could be a lot better but I get the sense that he's just not dedicated to making himself the best he can be as a quarterback. He just lacks that passion for the game in my opinion.

That's harsh...it took longer for Bradshaw to get his act together. Maybe what's really wrong is our perception that a QB out to be a Pro Bowler by year two.

Oh no! Goth is extending the Eli Manning vs. Terry Bradshaw/Roger Staubach development progress to Harley D Roethisberger!! Goth, passing was a lot harder back in the '70s because cornerbacks were actually allowed to defend against passes...that's why Staubach and Bradshaw took a while. Now adays if a defender touches a reciever with a finger a flag is thrown for pass interference hence defenders have to make it easier for QBs to develop. Lots of zone defense is like school for these young QBs. So ends the Bradshaw comparisons! Eli is gonna be mad that he can't fall back on that argument anymore!

Ah, yes, but what's the difference. Most quarterbacks who need work realize they need work, but this kid seems to be of the opinion he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. He actually said he welcomed the Cowher firing because he wanted to run a pass-first offense. He thinks he's the best offensive player on the team when he's so clearly not, and with an attitude like that he will never get better.

It didnt help he likes to go fast without a helmet either..all I can say is since cowhers gone he doesnt have an exuse now,he blamed his bad play because he couldnt control the offense the way he wanted and he didnt click with coach chin so its time to put up or shut up..
