Polamalu signs 4-year extension

Pittsburgh Steelers star safety Troy Polamalu signed a four-year contract extension on Monday which made him the team's highest-paid player and one of the NFL's top-paid defensive backs. Terms were not immediately available, but Polamalu's agent, Marvin Demoff, was seeking a signing bonus in the $15 million to $18 million range — far more than the Steelers have given any player.
Polamalu's signing was the second major contract deal by the Steelers in two days. They agreed to a five-year contract Sunday with outside linebacker Lawrence Timmons, their first-round draft pick, which guarantees him $12 million and could be worth as much as $15 million.

Good move for the Steelers. Sure, he was expensive, but he's quite likely the best player they have right now.

Yes, but does he rate on their All-Time team yet?

Hard to say. I think among safeties, you'd have to have Donnie Shell and maybe Carnell Lake ahead of him. He's closing in on Lake, though.

Nah, he's not going to cut his hair. He's like Samson, his strength is in his long hair.

Long hair or not, I'd sure like to see him on the Cowboys. I think he's awesome.

Hmm, yeah, forgot about Wagner - two time Pro Bowler, 6th in Steeler history in INTs. I think at this point Polamalu ranks above him, though.

Cool Re: Polamalu signs 4-year extension

As good as Polamalu is, 33 million is a lot of money for a safety.

33 million is a lot of money for anybody. Numbers mean nothing in this business.
