Whisenhunt Staying With Steelers

Pittsburgh offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt has told Oakland owner Al Davis "thanks but no thanks" and has decided to stick with the Steelers for one more season. Good idea or bad? I mean, I'm sure Steeler fans love having him back. But he can pretty much only hurt his coaching prospects, right?

Are the Steelers losing many from this years team? If not, you'd think they should be in the hunt next year so, unless there's a meltdown, Wisenhunt's stock should stay pretty high.

Randle El is Drawing Attention....

The Steeler that is drwaing the most attention around the league is Antwaan Randle El. The Chicago Bears would love to have him. Bill Belichick is also a huge Randle El fan. Other Steelers that could be on the move are Deshea Townsend, Chris Hope, Jeff Hartings, and Kimo Van Oelhoffen. They may be able to get Hartings and Kimo at a reduced price but Randle El could mean big Bucks.

I know this is an out there scenario, BigBadBuc, but is anyone looking at Randle El as a QB? I mean, he throws a sweeter pass than a lot of current NFL back-ups, although there's nothing to say that he could do that over and over during the course of a game. Just something that's got me curious.

El as a Quarterback...

Lefty,

El is just too valuable as a kick returner and a receiver. I also think that his size would give him trouble throwing out of the pocket. He can throw on the run with the best of them. I hope that the Steelers hold onto him.

True enough. Not everyone can be a pocket passer (Michael Vick).

Who do you think they'll be looking at in the draft this season? My brother's a huge Steeler fan, and I keep telling him that the perfect pick for them would be LenDale White, RB, USC. Just picture him running in the Cowher offense! Shame there's next to no chance of it happening, not unless they trade up.

We are thinking on the same page Lefty. LenDale White would fit in perfect with the Steelers system. They would definitely need to trade up to get him, and I am not so sure I see that happening anytime in the near future.

But they definitely need to get a RB somewhere. Staley is as good as done, he is injury prone, and never touches the field.

Although Parker had a great season, is he really a long term solution?
