Steelers get Extra Draft Picks

The Steelers received three compensatory draft picks for losing players in free agency a year ago...

That is a plus for the Steelers for sure because they are excellent on draft day and may be able to draft some real sleepers in the fourth and fifth round.

BBB,

Doesnt it seem like the Steelers always get a great mid to late round guy?? In my opinion they are one team that always gets the most out of the draft.

You got that right. Their philosophy revolves around how "productive" the player was in college verses athletic ability. Productive players are football players at heart. Sometimes good athletes are not good football players.

...and I totally agree with that. Who cares about the guy who did great at the combine, but does not have real good football sense? I like how the Steelers go with productivity as their number one factor in drafting a player.
