Randle El is a Redskin

Randle El signs with Skins. Six years- 30 million. That didn't take long.

Not at all. With this a done deal, what are the Steelers going to do about their wide receiver situation. They are hurting right now.

Re: Randle El is a Redskin

I think that they need to sign Quincy Morgan and draft a receiver. The Free-agent market is no good.

Re: Randle El is a Redskin

While I know this is a Steeler thread, I can't help but wonder what the Skins are doing. They have Santana Moss, they just traded for Brandon Lloyd and now they sign Randle El? How many receivers do you need, Gibbs?

Cool Re: Randle El is a Redskin

Lefty, you are absolutely correct. The Redskins do not need this guy and they give him 30 million dollars to boot. What did he have, 1 Td this year?

Boy did his Super Bowl performance really enhanced his value. Aha I got it -They signed him to be QB!!!

Re: Randle El is a Redskin

The Steelers really like Nate Wahington also. I watched him in training camp and he is the real deal. Don't be surprised if he has a good year.

That second receiver slot on the Steelers are sort of like Bronco running backs. It doesn't matter who you put there.

Now we're seeing why the Steelers win year after year and seldom have a losing year. They don't throw big money at medicore players. They put their money into their defense, running game,etc....No team has ever NOT won a Super Bowl because they had a so-so #2 receiver.

Re: Randle El is a Redskin

Agreed. The more pressing issue for Pittsburgh is keeping that defense in tact.

Re: Randle El is a Redskin

I disagree. I see where you are coming from, but not having a solid #2 receiver is going to allow defenses to stack the box against a running game that does not have Bettis this season.

I do hope to see the Steelers throw a lot to Miller again this season. He really helped to stretch defenses last season.

Cool Re: Randle El is a Redskin

Wvu: You can get a guy with the same skills as Randel-El for a 1/4 of his salary.

And the Steelers lost Burress last year and finally won the Super Bowl. I'm sure they'll fill the spot with someone adequate.
