Re: Steelers Release Grimm

What a turn of events. And here I thought he was going to be the next coach of the Steelers. Then they go and are enamored with Tomlin and Grimm is left standing in the wind.

Re: Steelers Release Grimm

Well, the full story is that Grimm asked to be released since he was passed over for the head coaching job, and the team obliged. I could see him going to Dallas, either as the head coach or as the O.C. Heck, the guy probably could have his pick of open coordinators jobs, really.

That's interesting. I thought he was going to be the man there.

You know, the Panthers are in the market for an OC.

Cool Re: Steelers Release Grimm

Does anybody believe this story from the Steelyard?
Quote:
Grimm had first crack at head coaching job
A source close to the team tells The Steelyard that Russ Grimm had the inside track to becoming the team's new head coach, but that the team turned to Mike Tomlin when Grimm and the Steelers failed to reach an agreement on a contract. When this news becomes public (if it hasn't already) I'm sure the Steelers will deny that Grimm was offered the job first. Technically that's probably true, as negotiations may not have progressed far enough for a formal offer to be extended. That would explain why the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review initially reported that Grimm had been offered (and would presumably accept) the position.

Re: Steelers Release Grimm

Why would he turn it down, though? Makes no sense.

Re: Steelers Release Grimm

This is a Grimm loss for the Steelers! Ok, I know that's bad but I couldn't resist!
