Many Names Could Be Considered For Head Coach
KDKA, PA - 10 hours ago
The search is on for the Steelers' newest head coach.

The two top in-house candidates, Russ Grimm and Ken Whisenhunt, are set interview for Bill Cowher's old job.

Grimm is scheduled to sit down with Kevin Colbert and the Rooneys on Monday, while Whisenhunt will meet with them on Tuesday.

Whisenhunt was in Atlanta on Friday and has already interviewed with the Arizona Cardinals in Phoenix.

Grimm is also expected to talk to the Cardinals on Tuesday.

But the Steelers will be looking beyond people already on their staff.

The interview process is expected to begin this weekend in Chicago, when the Steelers will interview Bears' Defensive Coordinator Ron Rivera.

Re: Steelers coaching search

I'm also hearing Mike Singletary's name being tossed about as a possibility.

Steelers Interview Vikings' Defensive Coordinator
WPXI.com, PA - 14 hours ago
Wednesday, Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin gets his chance to interview for the Steelers top coaching job.

During his four years as defensive backs coach with Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers twice led the league in overall defense.

Before that, the 34-year-old Tomlin spent two seasons as the University of Cincinnati's defensive backs coach.

Tomlin went to college at William and Mary. He never played in the NFL.

On Tuesday, the Steelers interviewed offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt.

Re: Steelers Interview Vikings' Defensive Coordinator

ESPN is reporting that the Steelers are going to interview Georgia Tech coach Chan Gailey today. Gailey, if you recall, was a former Cowher assistant, so it seems like he would be a good sensible hire. Plus he's done a fine job with the Yellow Jackets. What do you guys think?

Re: Steelers coaching search

Does it seem that there is a clear leader in the Steelers head coach search? Wouldn't it be smart to keep Grimm or Whisenhunt because the staff could stay in tact from the way it was last year.
