Staley Contract Restructured

Late last night the Steelers restructured Stayley's contract. I guess that means that I can stop talking about them getting rid of him . Below is the story from the PGH Post Gazette...

Re: Staley Contract Restructured

Well, this could be good news for them, provided Staley can adequately fill the Bettis power-back role. It means they're set at the RB position, with Parker starting, Staley backing him up and Haynes seeing situational action. Now they've got to get Hartings and/or Okobi taken care of, and then they're good to go.

Look for Steelers to go receiver in the first round.

Which one, though? Santonio Holmes will be gone. Do you go Sinorice Moss, Maurice Stovall, Chad Jackson?

Lefty,

The only one of those three that you mentioned that I have seen play is Moss. I like him a lot. Tell me about the others and how they compare.

Jackson's fast, and Stovall's a good all-around talent. Both are more or less projected as 2nd rounders, but their stocks are on the rise and it wouldn't be a stretch to see them sneak into the very end of the 1st round.

Lefty,

How does Moss compare to those two? Do you think Moss will be available at #32?

Re: Staley Contract Restructured

Yeah, all three of them should be there. Holmes is really the only sure-fire 1st rounder in the bunch. It makes me a little nervous to think the Steelers might go WR in the first round, because I just don't think the talent's there. What about OL, especially C if they can't work something out with Hartings and Okobi? There's a slim chance OSU's Nick Mangold will still be there.

Re: Staley Contract Restructured

Personally, I like Stovall. I think he is the best all around receiver that the Steelers will be able to grab up at pick 32.

Has anybody heard any word on Randle El's status? Did I miss anything?
