Steelers vs. Ravens

Don't look now, but the surging Pittsburgh Steelers are back to .500 with Sunday's win over Carolina. It's too late for them to win the AFC North - their opponents this week, the Baltimore Ravens, have already got that all wrapped up. It's probably even too late for Willie Parker, Joey Porter and company to make the playoffs. But it's never too late to stick it to your division rivals, and that's exactly what I predict the Steelers are going to do in this one. Give me Pittsburgh by a touchdown. What do you think?

There seem to be a lot of " What if " I'm not sure as to whether they are out as of yet but it sure doesn't look good for them , Though its nice to see them at .500, I will take them too

All I can can say is WOOOOOOOOOW what a big difference a year can do from HEROES to ZEROS. And who ever said a team couldnt buy themselves a SuperBowl title.

Buy themselves a title? Pittsburgh did nothing of the sort. Most of those guys were in the Steel City for the long haul - Bettis, Ward, Porter, etc. had been with the team for years. Ben was a rookie. Can't think of any big free agent signings before last season. Then during the offseason they had a few guys go free-agent (Hope, Randle-El) for more money, Bettis retired and Ben got hurt. I really don't see where you can say the Steelers bought themselves a Super Bowl title.

Re: Steelers vs. Ravens

Well thats what a Pittsburgh fan would say anyway. Dont forget the cheap shot that Kimo von Oelhoffen took on Carson Palmer that game. If you guys didnt take that cheap shot on Carson, he would have smoked you guys. I guess Pittsburgh fan didnt see it the way everyone else did all those calls going against the Seahawks taking away points from them. I also bet you seen all those offsides jump from Pittsburgh deffence that were not called right. That was the most crappiest SuperBowl ive ever seen and the officiating really stank that game had BOUGHT all over it. One word "KARMA" it always comes back and bites you in the butt.

Ha ha! Nice try, but I'm not a Pittsburgh fan, just an objective observer.

Yeah, Cincy probably would've won that game had Palmer not gotten hurt. But what happened, happened. I'm not a big believer in "Karma" -- I think the loss of Bettis and the idiocy of the starting quarterback had more to do with this season's outcome than anything else. Plus the fact that Cowher was too stubborn to pull Roethlesberger for Batch when Ben clearly wasn't 100% and was hurting the team.

Its obvious you have no clue about the Steelers , Pittsburgh has never been a team that buys players to make a championship team , This is one of the main reason as to why I like them

100% right, snooker - very rarely to they sign free agents. Duce was the biggest name they acquired in recent years (of course, he was a bust), and you never see them going after a guy like T.O. or Randy Moss.

Think they would've been a playoff team had Batch replaced Ben for those 3-4 games where Roethlesberger clearly wasn't 100%?

Yeah you are right too , but I think Cowher didn't probably know how to go about it with his new superstar QB , How do you replace a guy that got you the ring ? Though I am sure he was thinking of it , Again look at the outcome if he did ? How it would of went if the team did bad ? I think leaving Ben in was good for Ben to learn , I agree they probaly would of done better with Batch in , I still feel they were a better team then .500 but thats sports for you and I am glad they did finish at least with a .500 record , I wait for next year >>> Go Steelers <<<
