Cool Willie Parker

Steelers football blog says the Steelers have a running back for years to come . For one, I'm not surprised at how god Parker's been. I had Parker in 3 of my 5 fantasy leagues. I thought he was really good last year and once Bettis left, it really cleared the way for him. Was anybody surprised at how good he's been?

Re: Willie Parker

I'm not. I played against him in High School. He was a junior at Clinton High School when I was a senior at Charles B. Aycock High School. Their team won the state playoffs that year (1996, and I believe in 1997). He was so fast. His fullback went on to play halfback at ECU & for the Miami Dolphins for a few (Leonard Henry). When I heard he was giong to UNC I was so excited, only to see him never get a fair shot at playing (thanks John Bunting).

Re: Willie Parker

On the other hand, I am surprised he's been good this year. I figured his numbers in 2005 were a byproduct of Jerome Bettis, with the two serving as change of pace backs for one another. Without Bettis, or even a decent Bettis-type back, I figured Parker would struggle. But he's proven me wrong.

Re: Willie Parker

The only thing I know about Fast Willie Parker is that he has been caught from behind a few times this year... ...How embarassing for a guy who believes he is the fastest player in the league...
