Steeler Bomb Scare

Okay, as I set down to watch this week's episode of "Lost" on WTAE-TV, a Pittsburgh ABC affiliate, ran a brief report that said that the Pittsburgh Steelers were targeted as part of a bomb scare tonight. Apparently the team had gathered together at a local mall movie theater to screen the Super Bowl XL DVD, when some joker called in a bomb threat. The station said that the team was evacuated and police were on the scene, but no injuries were reported. Anyone have any further details?

Cool Re: Steeler Bomb Scare

Well Lefty, I got some details for you...Its seems like Locke is in the mist of a power struggle with the good Doctor...and Freckles tried to go Rambo...she borrowed a gun from Sawyer to go into the woods for medicine for the blonde girl with the kid...oh and Mr. Eko confessed to killing two of the Others...and...

Oh, what's that? Details on the bomb scare?...No...not really...too busy watching Evangaline Lilly pull of that "cute survivor look on Lost"...better go catch the news...sorry man.

Re: Steeler Bomb Scare

Now, now, Gotham, don't go spoiling anything for those who had to TiVo the episode!

Okay, now back to the topic at hand. Apparently, the Steelers weren't actually the target. In fact, the guy who phoned in the bomb threat didn't mention them and might not have known they were there. The call was apparently placed to the theater, the Loews Cineplex at The Waterfront in Homestead, Pa. a few minutes after 8pm. Afterwards, some 1,000 theatergoers were escorted out, including Pittsburgh players Ben Roethlisberger, Antoine Randle El, Jerome Bettis, Hines Ward and former Steeler Franco Harris. No evidence of a bomb was found.

Re: Steeler Bomb Scare

I was glad to hear that everybody was safe. The same Loews theater was the scene of a shooting a couple of months back as well. I hope the Steelers stay away from their from here on out!!
