The season just continues to get worse for the Steelers. Not only did the defending champs fall to 4-8 today by being shut out at Baltimore, but they will apparently be without one of their key playmakers now as well. ESPN is reporting that safety Troy Polamalu suffered a "significant" knee injury in the game, and will be out indefinately as a result.

Our View
If these reports are accurate, the Steelers defense will be devastated. Polamalu is a wild-man on the field, and he will be sorely missed. We will pass on more information as it becomes available, but this news looks quite grim.

i have to agree with them, Troy is the heart and soul of their defense

their season is basically over, they didnt need this

Palomalu is pretty much the only player on that team showing any heart and passion, and I've said before I think he's the best safety in the game. He's sorely going to be missed but at this point, its best for Troy and the team just to get him healthy for next season.
