This guy has just had the worst year. He's been hurt and hasn't played. Everyone talks about what a big bust he was for the Steelers. His dad died during Super Bowl week, a time that should have been among the happiest in his life. His team won the world championship and I'm not even sure he was active for the game. Now he gets into a fight and loses $100K worth of jewelry in the process. Yeesh, can the guy BUY a break?

I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw this. I am not so sure what the Steelers plan to do with him. I would have to imagine that they are going to get rid of him. There is no reason to keep his salary around if he is never going to play. What do you think?

Nah, they've got to trade or release him. Even with Bettis retired, Duce is no better than No. 3 on the depth chart, and that's if Pittsburgh doesn't sign a free agent or draft somebody. In the salary cap age, you just cannot pay a third-string RB the kind of money he makes.

Lefty,

We are on the same page with this one. He was paid way to much last year to sit on the bench and never take the field. It is ashame because when the Steelers signed him there was so much excitement, but things dont always work out in this league (to say the least)
