Broncos at Steelers

Denver lost a close game to Indy this past weekend, while the Steelers were upset by the Raiders. Pittsburgh's defense played well, holding the Raiders to 80-some yards of total offense, but QB Ben Rothlesberger tossed four interceptions, two of which went for touchdowns. The only chance the Steelers have in this one is if Charlie Batch plays in place of Ben. With Batch at QB, Pittsburgh wins 24-17. Without him, Denver wins 31-7 thanks to a couple of defensive scores.

Why the coach?...they are not executing...Big Ben keeps throwing it away...why not replace the AB?

Because Cowher's going to retire, and possibly take another job. He's pretty much mailing it in. Word is that he has his team playing with zero passion, something Michael Irvin alluded to on ESPN yesterday. There's no outrage about their record, no fire and brimstone like there should be, and that's a reflection on Cowher's apathy towards what is now obviously going to be his final season on the Steeler sidelines.

So?...you still have pros on the field being paid a great deal of money...they are suppose to be Super Bowl Champs...and they are making a ton on mental errors...may or may not have to do with Cowhar...

What, this team gets a bye on being picked on?...Come on?...This board is all to happy to rip on Vick, daunte, TO and others...but we spare big Ben and his crew?...Come on...fair is fair...its the people on the field making the errors...how about not turning a blind eye on them...bench freaking Ben...hell...Drew Bledsoe was doing better and people wanted his head.

Re: Broncos at Steelers

Who's giving them a bye, again? I just said they were playing with zero passion, something that's unforgivable in professional sports. I've said countless times that Ben needs to be pulled in favor of Batch (go look up some of the old Rothlesberger threads if you don't believe me), who for some reason seems to spark this team. Ward is playing is arse off. They have no replacement for what Bettis did on or off the field. No leadership. Their coach is mailing it in, not motivating them and not making the right personnel descisions. This season, the Steelers remind be of the awful 1987 Giants, and how terrible they were after winning Super Bowl XXI. So giving them a pass? I don't see where you get that from.

Re: Broncos at Steelers

The Steelers seem to have abandoned their philosophy of running the ball, then passing off of that, which is exposing Roethlisberger for what he is, a very young quarterback with a good arm but poor decision making ability. I just don't think Cowher would ever give less than his best effort to the organization. This team needs to decide if they are aopassing team or a running team. When you pass that much, you are going to turn it over.
