Steeler RB/WR Situations

I know the last thing Pittsburgh fans want to hear after winning a Super Bowl is some bad news, but the reality is that the Steelers may be in trouble next year at the still positions.

Bettis has retired and Staley is a goner. While Duce didn't actually contribute much to the team, his departure could cause some depth issues at RB for the team. Parker and Verron Haynes have talent, but I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable with just those to in the backfield.

At WR, Randle El is a free agent and will get a lot of looks. Quincy Morgan and Sean Morey are also set to become an unrestricted free agent in March. That would leave Ward, Cedrick Wilson (who did bring in about 450 yards for them last year), Lee Mays and Nate Washington under contract. That won't get it done.

Play GM here. What should the Steelers do?

I'd say resign Randle El and look to the draft for the rest. Hope for LenDale White in the first round and maybe Maurice Stoval or Sinorice Moss in the second.

Hmm... should've held off posting a few minutes. Looks like the Steelers might already be making plans to try and sign free-agent Antonio Bryant. At least, that's what the Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting: "Pittsburgh may view Bryant as a replacement for Antwaan Randle El, who is expected to leave in free agency. Bryant starred at the University of Pittsburgh."

Thoughts?
