Ward and Polamalu best at their positions

Watching Hines Ward play, I am very impressed with his athleticism and feel he is just so overlooked among wide recievers. Polamalu, if I am spelling his name right, is the best pure football player in the world right now as far as I am concerned. I just love watching these two guys play and I am not even a Steelers fan.

Hey Legend ... I totally agree with you , I am a steelers fan and have been watching these guys for awhile , I look forward to watch the steelers linebackers ( Porter , Foote and Farrior ) playing with Troy , I guess i'm one of them who love to see defense actions

Re: Ward and Polamalu best at thier positions

Sorry but not a chance Ward is the best at his position. Sure he is among the top guys in the league. He does it all as far as blocking, catching, running, never giving up on a play, etc. But I just don't think he's as dominant as guys like Harrison, Holt and others.

Yes on Polamalu, no one Ward. Troy is definitely, far and away, the most dominating safety in the league today (Ed Reed couldn't shine his shoes). Ward is a talented guy who is very underrated, but he's not better than Steve Smith, Marvin Harrison, et. al.

Not shine his shoes?... ...oh brother...Ed Reed can change the course of a game faster for you than Troy....He is an elite...I'd take Reed over Troy.

Re: Ward and Polamalu best at their positions

Put Ward in the place of any of those guys mentioned, as a number one option with a great quarterback throwing to him, and tell me he wouldn't put up those same numbers. Now put them where he is and ask them to do what he does. Did anyone see him score that touchdown without a shoe for the last thirty yards or so?
Polamalu is everywhere on the field, and just plays the game with such a love for it without being dirty or bringing attention to himself. Show me the guy that runs Vick down and knocks him out of bounds like he did the other day.

No argument that Polamalu isn't a talent...only that he is not a whole level higher than Reed on the field.

That argument did not come from me. Hard to believe the Steelers have gotten themselves into such a fix this season.
